Letter to the parents of candidates -- Flying Eagle August Induction Weekend Edition

What to bring:

There are several key elements that you must bring to the Induction. (Keep in mind that all items must fit in a backpack)

Parts of A & B of the BSA Medical Form
A backpack to carry all your personal equipment
A full, Nalgene-like water bottle
A pocket knife
Ground cloth
Complete Class A uniform (no merit badge sash)
Sleeping bag
Tent
Toiletry items such as soap, towel, etc.
Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty 
A pair of work gloves

A poncho (Rain gear) 
A full stomach on Friday night.
A little cash for use in the trading post when your Ordeal is over
A good Scouting attitude

Things not permitted:

Any food or drinks, radios, TVs, sheath knives, hunting knifes, MP3 players, or computer games.
Garbage bags and totes for carrying your supplies are not permitted.

Candidates will not be able to use cell phones during the Induction, and they are encouraged not to carry them during the event due to the possibility of breaking or losing them during the activities. If a candidate needs a phone due to an emergency, a phone will be available for their use.

Registration Information

 Register online here. On Site check-in starts at the CubWorld Dining Hall at 5:00 pm and goes until 7:00 p.m. on Friday night. Those who arrive after 7:30 p.m. will not be able to go through the Induction because you will have missed key aspects of the weekend and it would be unfair to you if you were to miss them. The weekend will end at 10am on Sunday morning. If you need to leave early, you will need the prior approval of the Induction chairman and his adviser.
