Ian Romaine Receives DSA PDF Print E-mail

garrett-ianDSALodge Adviser Ian Romaine received the Distinguished Service Award at the 2009 National Order of the Arrow Conference at Indiana University.  The award is presented to those Arrowmen who have rendered distinguished and outstanding service to the Order on a sectional, regional, or national basis. Since the time the first awards were presented, less than 840 Distinguished Service Awards have been awarded.  Ian Romaine becomes the 13th Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge member to receive this award.  Ian is pictured at left with his award presenter, former Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge Adviser David Garrett.

In addition to his tireless efforts guiding Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge as Lodge Adviser, Ian Romaine puts a lot of energy into strenghening our Order on the national level.  He  served as the Adviser for the 20062007, and 2008 National OA Annual Reports.  You can see the results of his efforts on the recently launched OA Digital Archive on the national OA website.  As the OA's Digital Archivist since 2006, Ian has worked tireless to build this powerful resource.  He is on staff at the 2009 National OA Conference and will continue his archiving efforts there.

 

Ian Romaine was named the current Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge Adviser in the fall of 2008.  Prior to that he served as the Lodge's first Associate Lodge Adviser, Lodge Finance Adviser, the inaugural Middle Tennessee Council Winter Camp Adviser, along with numerous other named and unnamed positions in the Lodge, with the Middle Tennessee Council, and on the section, region, and national levels.  Professionally, he is pursuing a PhD in Synthetic Chemistry at Vanderbilt University.

Ian Romaine, an Eagle Scout, has received the Vigil Honor, Founders Award, Middle Tennessee Council Long Rifle Award, the Silver Beaver, and numerous other Scouting awards.  In 2002 he was selected to carry the Olympic Torch when it made its way through Middle Tennessee.
