Lodge Awards Form

Please use this online form to nominate an Arrowman for one of the awards below. Please note the Arrowman must be a registered member of Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge in order to be eligible to receive the award. Below the list of awards, please include the requested information in the space provided about your nominee. By providing as much information as possible about your nominee, the Lodge will be better able to evaluate the nomination. You can download and print out a blank nomination form HERE. Awards for 2010 will be accepted until October the 15th 2010.

Vigil Honor -- The Vigil Honor is bestowed upon members who show excellence in service towards the lodge, council, and Scouting in general. Preference is given for service performed as a youth member of the Order, although both youth and adults may be recognized with the Vigil Honor. Eligible nominees must be registered, active members of the lodge who have continued in service to others for a minimum of two years from the date of their Brotherhood ceremony. In accordance with national policy, only youth members of the lodge vigil committee may vote and select candidates for the Vigil Honor. Josh Sain Memorial Award -- The Josh Sain Memorial Award, previously known as the Allogagon, is presented for exceptional service to the Lodge. It was named in memory of former Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge Chief Josh Sain who was tragically killed in 1997 while serving as the Order's National Vice Chief.


Unsung Arrowman -- The Unsung Arrowman Award is presented to a youth member of Lodge who has gratefully given up their time and efforts without ever holding a lodge position. This member will have attended 80% of Wa-Hi-Nasa’s lodge events for the past two years.


Tom Parker Memorial Award for Excellence in Camp Promotions -- This award is presented a member for excellent contribution to the camp promotions program on the chapter or council level.


Excellence in Ceremonies -- This award is presented to a youth who demonstrates excellence as a ceremonialist through regular service at district and lodge events.


Excellence in American Indian Events -- This award recognizes youth that have progressed the American Indian Events program within his district or in his lodge.


Founders Award -- This award, given by the National Committee of the Order of the Arrow, is given to arrowman who exemplify the qualities of the Spirit of Achievement, as described by founder, E. Urner Goodman. More information about this award is available on the National OA Website

Vigil Honor nominations are due at the close of the Fall Ordeal Executive Committee Meeting. Founders Award nominations are due at the close of the Fall Fellowship Executive Committee Meeting. Nominations for all other awards are due in early October.
