Winter Camp Roundup

The 2008 edition of Winter Camp was a wild, wild, west of an experi-ence, with over 600 cowboy campers and 150 adults in attendance. It was staffed by 65 Ar-rowmen of the Wa-Hi-Nasa lodge. These Arrowmen worked with great intensity and showed what a brotherhood of cheer-ful service is all about.
The schedule for this year was packed from sun up to sun down. From afternoon games, like the bull ride and dodgeball, to evening pro-grams like the hoedown and a movie night; Winter Camp was a hoot and a hollar to experience. However, the fun activities were just a small part of each day. Morn-ing classes gave Scouts an opportu-nity to earn three merit badges. " It was a great way to earn some unique merit badges" said one Scoutmaster.
Winter Camp is a major service project from our lodge to benefit the council. The Lodge has agreed to take on the year-round planning and training requirements to reliably stage this event. Arrowmen are performing nearly every task needed to make this event a success. From doing the dishes to performing in the shows, Wa-Hi-Nasa members consistently earned high praise from both the council staff and participants.
