Winter Camp Staff PDF Print E-mail

Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge is proud to serve the Middle Tennessee Council by hosting Winter Camp for the 9th consecutive year. The theme for 2011 is the Sportsboxwell-winter-camp-2011 Experience. Some of this year's activities will include flag football, dodge ball, and Volleyball tournaments as well as food you would enjoy at a sports event! New to Winter Camp in 2011, is the addition of extra time allotted in the afternoon for Merit Badges to be completed that require additional time and effort. This year we are planning to take a trip on the "Music City Star"  commuter train.

We are in the planning stages and it looks like we may be able to bus about 200 scouts (first-come basis) to Martha's Station located at Highway 109 and Highway 70 near Lebanon and ride the train into Nashville and back. Keeps your fingers crossed! Afternoon activities will focus on teambuilding

skills allowing for new levels of fun and excitement for Scouts. The NRA Appleseed program new to Winter Camp as well as black powder, shotgun shooting, and archery will be held in the afternoon periods as in previous years. We will open camp with a great campfire program with fireworks! Winter Camp is truly a unique opportunity that allows scouts to experience Boxwell Scout Reservation in a greatly diverse way. A scout is able to earn merit badges and participate in activities that are not obtainable at summer camp. The weather, activities, training, and overall camp atmosphere are vastly unique. We are positive scouts attending Winter Camp will not be disappointed with their experience. Just ask one of the hundreds of satisfied campers who have attended Winter Camp in the past.
